Falcons fan injured in fight outside Georgia Dome

A man was taken to a local hospital after a fight outside the Georgia Dome following the ’49ers victory over the Falcons in the NFC Championship Game.

The fight happened in the Silver Parking Lot. A CBS Atlanta News crew was at that location when the scuffle broke out. A reporter and photographer described the scene as chaotic and saw a woman holding a man steady while he sat on a cooler. CBS Atlanta News crew members noticed blood on the man’s neck.

Witnesses said the Atlanta Falcons fan had been stabbed in the neck by a San Francisco fan after the two got into a shouting match.

Paramedics took the victim by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital. He is listed in stable condition, according to Georgia Dome’s public relations office. It states the victim is a 35-year-old man. His name has not been released.

It is unclear if anyone involved in the fight had been inside the dome during the game, according to officials. Hundreds of fans watched the game on television screens in various parking lots.

Georgia World Congress Center Authority Police Department is investigating the incident along with the Atlanta Police Department.

Neither agency would say how the victim received his wound or what sparked the fight.
