40 Glocc sued Game last October for an assault incident that took place in July, and now, the details have been revealed regarding the financial terms of the suit.
According to TMZ, Glocc sued the Compton, California rapper for a staggering $4.54 million. He is suing Game for: $500,000 in pain and suffering; $500,000 in emotional distress; $750,000 in lost earnings; $2 million for punitive damages; $25,000 in medical expenses; and various other reasons.
The initial incident took place last July, when Game beat Glocc outside of a mansion in Hollywood, California. Glocc claims Game and his 15-men entourage jumped him and filmed the beating, which left him with major injuries to his right eye, ribs, kidneys, right shoulder and back. He also sustained wounds on his face, head, legs, arms and hands.
Glocc sued for assault and battery, as well as damaging his reputation. Since then, Glocc has gone on a smear campaign against Chuck Taylor, releasing his diss “The Full Edit” in December. Game has similarly addressed the situation in several interviews, claiming that filing a lawsuit of this nature “disintegrates your street cred.” At the top of the year, Glocc also claimed that he knocked out Game’s manager.
Preparations are already underway for Michelle Obama’s big 50th birthday next January, and two of music’s biggest acts have reportedly been booked for the occasion.
An unnamed (and potentially questionable) source told the UK’s Daily Mail that the first lady has asked Beyonce and Adele to perform at her party.
“America’s first lady will be holding a huge celebrity-packed party for her birthday at the White House next year and, as she adores Adele and Beyonce, she has asked them both to sing,” an unnamed source told The Daily Mail. “Adele has graciously accepted and waived her usual fee for the high-profile private performance. She will sing a selection of her most-loved hits for the first lady and her friends.”
Beyonce has a long-standing relationship with the Obamas. The singer famously performed at President Obama’s inauguration earlier this year, and, along with her husband Jay-Z, was a major supporter of Obama during his run for presidency and reelection. Beyonce also wrote the first lady a birthday card earlier this year for her 49th. “Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that [you] do for us,” Beyonce wrote. “I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”
Michelle Obama will turn 50 on January 17, 2014.
A Clover mother was charged last week after deputies say she planned to help her teen daughter find and smoke marijuana.
The incident was reported on Sunday on the 400 block of Elizabeth Valley Lane, according to the report from the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Jennifer Lellani Romero, 36, of Clover, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the report.
Deputies were called to the home because Romero and her husband Walter had gotten into an argument over the incident.
Walter, who works out of town, was upset when he returned to learn from his 21-year-old son that his wife had decided to facilitate the smoking of marijuana of their daughter, according to the report.
Deputies say the mother and daughter went to a local tennis court to purchase the marijuana, then drove to McDowell Park in Charlotte to smoke it.
The son’s girlfriend told deputies that she had heard the daughter and Romero talking about buying some marijuana to bake into a pan of brownies to experience what it’s like getting high, according to the report.
The girlfriend thought they were joking and suggested that baking marijuana in the house may be a bad idea because the smell would linger.
The mother admitted to deputies that she bought the marijuana at a nearby tennis court for $10, according to the report.
The daughter told deputies that she had been getting peer pressured at school to try marijuana.
The mom, according to the report, knew about the pressure and would rather her daughter smoke marijuana in her presence instead of being unsupervised.
Romero was served her arrest warrant at the Moss Justice Center.
Justin Bieber collapsed after becoming short of breath during a performance at London’s O2 arena on Thursday night, but finished his performance after being given oxygen backstage, Reuters reported.
Melissa Victor, a spokeswoman for the teenage pop idol, said he was being taken to see a doctor after the show.
Scooter Braun, the singer’s manager, told the crowd after Mr. Bieber had left the stage that he “got very light of breath, the whole show he had been complaining.” His statement was posted on YouTube by fans.
Ms. Victor said Mr. Bieber, 19, had not been suffering from any health problems before the show.
Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel has been sentenced to additional time in jail for last year’s drug arrest.
According to Philly.com, Beans was sentenced to an additional six to 23 months in jail stemming from his August 2012 arrest for possession of a controlled substance. The former Roc-a-Fella emcee is currently serving out a sentence for tax evasion.
As DX reported last year, Sigel was arrested for possession of codeine, prescription pills and a small amount of marijuana. Police were tipped off when the car in which Beans was travelling at the time began swerving between lanes and tailgating another car.
During the initial search, police also found a loaded handgun in the center dashboard of the car. Although the gun charges against Sigel were later dropped, the driver of automobile Gerald Andrews was sentenced to two-and-a-half to five years in prison for possession of a firearm.
As previously mentioned, Beanie Sigel is currently serving a two year sentence for failing to pay more than $728,000 in federal taxes dating back to 1999.
Some family members of Sept. 11 terror victims are angry over new flight-safety rules that will permit small knives on planes.
The head of the Transportation Security Administration said Tuesday that air passengers will now be allowed to carry folding knives with blades that are 2.36 inches or less.
The rules go into effect next month. They’ll also permit souvenir baseball bats, golf clubs and other sports equipment.
Debra Burlingame says small pocketknives can be just as lethal as the box cutters that are still banned.
Burlingame’s brother was the pilot of the hijacked plane that crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. The hijackers wielded box cutters.
Sally Regenhard says she’s “flabbergasted” by the new rules. She lost her firefighter son at the World Trade Center.
Lenny Kravitz will not play Marvin Gaye in “Sexual Healing,” an upcoming biopic. Deadline.com reports Jesse L. Martin will fill in for Kravitz, a surprising development given that Martin was actually originally cast in the film when it was to be produced by James Gandolfini.
Marvin Gaye III (the singer’s son) had previously expressed grave reservations about Kravitz portraying the Motown legend, going so far as to slam the entire project as “shameful.”
Kravitz was first cast in Julien Temple’s take on a portion of Gaye’s life in November. Temple remains on the project.
“Sexual Healing” is slated to start production later this month, so it seems Gaye III has come to terms with the plans. All’s not lost for Kravitz: He’ll reprise his role as Cinna in “Catching Fire,” the upcoming “Hunger Games” sequel.
Chinese authorities say they have destroyed nearly two tons of chocolate cake imported by Sweden’s Ikea for violating food quality standards.
The Shanghai quarantine bureau said this week that Kraft cream cheese and 2.7 tons of Nestle chocolate bars also were among dozens of imported products destroyed in its latest round of quality inspections.
Ikea pulled the cakes in 23 countries Tuesday, after Chinese authorities found excessive levels of coliform bacteria, which is present fecal matter, the Agence France-Presse reports.
Chinese authorities have stepped up food inspections in recent years after a series of scandals over fake or shoddy goods.
The disclosure in December that suppliers of KFC violated rules on drug use in poultry caused sales for the restaurant chain to plunge. KFC estimated sales in January dropped 37 percent and the company announced tighter quality control measures in an effort to win back customers.
The Shanghai quarantine bureau said it destroyed 1,872 kilos (4,100 pounds) of chocolate almond cake imported by Ikea that it said had excessive levels of coliform bacteria.
Ikea spokeswoman Ylva Magnusson said the cakes were destroyed in November and December but the company’s head office had only found out about it on Monday. Read the rest of this entry »
A group of women in Charlotte for the CIAA say they paid top dollar for a party, but one of them became the victim of a club beatdown.
Felicia Cunningham is still in shock over the beating she says she got at the hands of private security Saturday night.
“They slammed my head against the wall,” she tearfully recalled. “I never had anybody do that to me. They were five men. Five.”
Cunningham, her sister and cousin went to the Daisy Dooks gentleman club to see rapper Drake perform.
“We came to see Drake,” she recalled. “That’s not what we saw.”
